 The exhibition includes newly-created work inspired by nature, music, and Liz Shea’s strong background in textile design. Her work has evolved into a new world, focusing on and exploring the intuitive and rewarding art of assemblage. Most recently, genre scenes have captivated her creative attention, leading in an artistic direction which ultimately inspired the creation of a unique assemblage collection portraying detailed episodes of mid-20th century characters which capture their charm and distinct personalities within a variety of settings incorporating both vintage and antique elements.  Over the past quarter century, Liz Shea-McCoy has spearheaded Lincoln’s first public art project, Tour de Lincoln (Bikes), and established a foundation for the arts devoted to advocating, supporting and Preserving the Arts in Lincoln, NE. Beginning in 2021, Liz focused her historic preservation and fundraising efforts on saving, restoring and reinstalling the Pershing Mural within Lincoln. As a life-long educator, Liz also continues her work as a Teaching Artist with the Nebraska Arts Council.  Assembled objects and work on canvas are available for viewing and purchase Friday through Sunday, September 4-27 from noon to 5 p.m. The exhibit is supported by The Nebraska Arts Council, the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
